What this site is, what it is not, and the rules for using it.

By using Topeka Chimney Sweep Finder or sending a request through it, you agree to these terms.
A referral service, not a contractor
Topeka Chimney Sweep Finder is a free referral service. We are not a chimney sweeping and inspection company. We do not do the work, give quotes, set prices or supervise anyone. The providers we pass requests to are independent businesses. They are not our employees, agents or partners.
No promises about providers or results
We do not promise that a provider will contact you, that one is available, or anything about their price, schedule, quality or results. Any quote, contract, payment or warranty is between you and the provider, on their terms. Providers may pay us for referrals.
Check the provider yourself
We do not check providers' licenses, insurance, permits or work history. Before you hire anyone, ask to see their license and proof of insurance where your state or city requires them, get the quote in writing, and check what other customers say about them.
Information on this site
Pages and guides here are general information only. They are not professional, engineering, legal or safety advice for your home, and prices and rules change. Rely on the provider who sees your job and on your local building department, not on this site.
Being contacted
When you send a request you agree, as the form says, that we may share it with one independent local provider and that the provider may call or text you about it. You can tell the provider to stop at any time, and you can ask us to delete your request (see Privacy).
Fair use
Only send requests for yourself, with your own true contact details. Do not send spam or requests in someone else's name, submit the form with scripts or bots, copy this site in bulk, or try to break, overload or get around its security. We may block anyone who does, and report abuse.
No warranty and limits on our liability
This site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any work a provider does or fails to do, or for any loss, damage or injury that comes from it or from using this site. Where we are liable anyway, our total liability is limited to $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply to you only as far as your local law permits.
Law that applies
California law governs these terms, except where the law of the place you live says otherwise and cannot be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version.
